    International Women’s Day calls us to a double task.

    It calls us, first, to recognize that women suffer disproportionately from every aspect of capitalist exploitation and oppression, from poverty and austerity to environmental degradation and imperialism—just as they have borne the brunt of inequality in every class-based society.

    Two days before International Women’s Day, March 8, the government’s far-right Minister of Science and Technology, Ofir Akunis, sparked a controversy in the Knesset when he told women parliamentarians that if “you continue to whine, you will never become leaders.” “You want to mark Women’s Day, and that’s fine,” Akunis said in remarks during a special plenary session to mark the day.

    The Communist Women, from the CP of Turkey issued a statement for the International Working Women's Day calling for socialist struggle, against the obedient society that is trying to be created.

    On the eve of March 8th, the International Working Women’s Day, the Communist Women from Turkey reacted to escalating levels of exploitation and oppression within the capitalist system, that forces the women to work for lower salaries and under discriminatory conditions.

  • Detained workers of the National Iranian Steel Company in Ahvaz must be released unconditionally!

    According to reports published in the media, on the ninth day of the organised and united strike by workers of the National Iranian Steel Company in Ahvaz (NISCO) and on the day of their protest march through the streets of Ahvaz, the provincial capital of Khuzestan, officers from the security forces and the police intelligence unit raided many of the workers’ homes overnight and arrested more than 9 striking workers and transferred them to prison.
  • CPI Condemns Vandalising of Periyar Statue

    The Secretary of the Tamilnadu State Council of the Communist Party of India issued the following Statement to the media.

    Two persons were arrested for vandalising the Periyar’s Statue at Thiruppattur, Vellore District. There are reports in some media, that one of them Francis belongs to the CPI.

    We firmly state that Francis is not a member of the CPI and has no connection with the party at all.
  • KKE: the “interest” of the USA-NATO-EU in the Balkans is dangerous for th peoples

    The working people of the Greek part of Macedonia declared their decision to escalate the struggle against the imperialist plans and dangers that they are bringing for the peoples of our country and the wider region, defying the rain and participating in mass and combative way in the large rally of the Central Macedonia Party Organization of the KKE in Thessalonica (6/3/2018).
    The central speaker at the rally was the GS of the CC of the KKE, Dimitris Koutsoumpas, who presented the positions of the party on the developments in the Balkans, the Middle East, Greco-Turkish relations and the Cyprus issue, after the escalation of the aggressiveness of Turkey.
  • CPs of India respond to the fascist attacks in Tripura

    CP of India (CPI) and CP of India Marxist (CPI-M) releases statements condemning the attacks towards Communists after the Assembly elections.

    After the Assembly elections where, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 35 of the 59 seats where the elections with its ally, Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT), winning eight seats.

    With those results the BJP-IPFT alliance ended the 25 years of uninterrupted rule of the CPI(M)-led Left Front by winning 43 of the 59 seats.

    Communist Party of Italy (PC) released a statement regarding the election on 4th of March,

    The Communist Party of Italy (Partito Comunista, PC) released a statement in the aftermath of the 2018 general elections, where no political group or party won an outright majority and resulted in a hung parliament.

    The election took place concurrently with the Lombard and Lazio regional elections. According to the final results, the centre-right alliance won a plurality of seats in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Senate, while the Five Star Movement led by Luigi Di Maio became the party with the largest number of votes and the centre-left coalition came third.
  • CPI Condemns Tripura Violence

    The Central Secretariat of the Communist Party of India issued the following statement on March 6, 2018 on violence in Tripura.

    True to its character the BJP-RSS and their allied organisations have unleashed unprecedented violence against Communists and their supporters in Tripura.

    Party offices of Communist Parties are being destroyed and burnt. Hundreds of party offices have been captured by RSS-BJP goons. Houses of hundreds of Communist workers have been burnt in number of places.

    Another mass rally against the deportation of African refugees and asylum seekers will be held in Tel Aviv, this time in Rabin Square, on Saturday night, March 24, under the slogan “Israel is stopping the deportation!”

    According to organizers, “This is a struggle for our values, for the State of Israel.

  • We are with you: Against guns, for jobs not jails

    We the Young Communist League and New Elm City Dream of New Haven, Connecticut stand in solidarity with the students of Parkland, Florida.  We offer our condolences for the loss of your friends and teachers, and for the loss of peace in your community.
    This could have happened to any of us.  We are with you in the nationwide movement to unite youth against violence.

    We have been marching in New Haven for many years to end violence in our city.  The majority of high school students in New Haven have lost a friend to gun violence.  This fact is a mass killing in itself. Our marches are not only to end shootings, but also to fight for jobs for youth and jobs for all.  Our most recent march on Sunday, February 25th was part of our annual Black History Month celebration. We highlighted the crisis of murders of black and brown youth in our community, and the crisis of joblessness that leads to violence.  Low regulation and availability of guns benefits the National Rifle Association and is part of the systematic killing of black and brown youth.

    The verdict of the people of Tripura will lead to the formation of a BJP-IPFT alliance government in the state.  After 25 years in government, the Left Front has been voted out of office.

    The BJP has, apart from other factors, utilized massive deployment of money and other resources to influence the elections.

It ha claimed the lives of more than 10,000 people, with almost 24,000 wounded, and about 2 million were forced to leave their homes. Hundreds of children have been killed and injured. The blood of the inhabitants of Donbass is on the hands of the Kiev regime, which unleashed military aggression in response to the declaration of independence and self-determination of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

     This article is based on a report to, and subsequent discussion among, the National Board of the Communist Party USA.

     I. What is the Resistance?

    The thing we call the resistance is heterogeneous, made up of different forces, each with their own objectives and tactics in struggle.

    It brings together some, including moderate Republicans, with the narrow goal of returning to the status quo ante by removing the Trump regime.  Other forces see removing Trump as part of a larger Democratic electoral campaign against the GOP.
