More than 1,000 activists held a demonstration in support of refugees and against the intervention in Syria, in central Athens, Tuesday, to mark the occasion of International Women's Day. The demonstrators, predominantly women from the Federation of Women of Greece (OGE) as well as the All Workers Military Front (PAME), rallied through the streets of central Athens before passing the embassy of the United states. SOT, Mairini Stefanidi, President of the Federation of Women of Greece (Greek): "With people's solidarity, we reach out to the women refugees, who arrive in our country with babies in their hands. They are victims of the inhuman interventions of NATO, USA, European Union and their allies."
