Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs Jorge Arreaza lambasted the infamous statement released on Friday, March 27, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras that insinuates “serious international consequences of Venezuelan drug trafficking.”

“What a nerve! Honduras, a country openly headed by a drug lord and a self-confessed drug trafficking family mafia. They’re submissive DEA associates. A non-elected, so-called president who was appointed by Trump and drug trafficking. An oppressive government. A narco-colony in all respects,” stressed the Venezuelan diplomat on his Twitter account @jaarreaza.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Honduras openly expressed its vulgar submission of Juan Orlando Hernández government to the US foreign policy towards Venezuela.

The Donald Trump administration announced on Thursday, March 26, “rewards for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction” of Venezuelan citizens who are accused by the Department of Justice for their role in international drug trafficking.

The unfounded accusations include President Nicolás Maduro and President of Venezuela’s National Constituent Assembly Diosdado Cabello.

The Venezuelan government strongly rejected these accusations and denounced that “at a time when humanity is facing the most vicious pandemic ever, Donald Trump´s administration is once again attacking the People of Venezuela and its democratic institutions, using a new form of coup d’état based on miserable, vulgar and unfounded accusations that try to minimize the high recognition that Venezuela has in the fight against drug trafficking.”
